José Mota Capitão, the winemaker, and Antonio Rosado, his oenologist, decided to produce something different with this grape variety: a wine with some physico-chemical parameters considered unusual in a Portuguese wine. Basically, this wine was conceived with the great Alsatian wines in mind, so it should be drunk when it has aged a bit and developed into dry fruit notes with a noticeable acidity!

We can drink it as a meal with a toast of smoked salmon and cream cheese, or with eggs with wild asparagus, or one of the exceptional creamy Portuguese pecorino cheeses such as Serra de Estrela.

A strange vine in this latitude that produces a strange wine but with such a crazy team as on Portocarro, in the end, with a lot of risk, the result was worth it and this wine is timelessly fantastic. A super premium wine, delicious and fresh with enormous aging potential. Obtained from only one grape variety (Sercial). Only produced in years when the grapes are at their best. Enjoy it on the beach, with fresh fish, seafood or salads.
