Here's how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate estimated shipping emissions. Based on these estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to companies vetted by Carbon Direct 's scientists. These companies use the money to remove as much carbon as our shipments created. All additional funding will go toward further development of carbon removal technologies.

Heirloom 's direct air capture technology improves the process of carbon mineralization. Heirloom's technology accelerates the rate at which naturally occurring minerals capture CO₂ instead of using energy-intensive fans to suck in air.

Our system combines the burial of biomass, which safely stores carbon in the deep sea for centuries, with increasing the alkalinity of the ocean by converting atmospheric CO2 into stable dissolved inorganic carbon, which remains there for centuries to millennia.

Planetary 's technology accelerates the natural process of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by delivering safe "anti-acids" to local ocean areas. Producing anti-acids from mine waste also produces green hydrogen and battery metals, which are crucial for reducing transport emissions.
