Huet's Poiré is made from pure pear juice and has only 2% alcohol.

It has a beautiful straw yellow color with a rich aromatic palette and intense flavors of sweet pears, citrus fruits and brioche.

Nice and fruity with a good balance of sweet and sour and a pearl.

The poiré, which has retained all the sweetness of the pears while remaining refreshing, is generally consumed as an aperitif or in Norman kir, as an accompaniment to fruit desserts such as apple pie, ideal with slightly acidic fruits.

Le Manoir "La Brière des Fontaines" is a magnificent property with a long Calvados tradition and probably one of the most beautiful cellars in Normandy. As early as 1941, Pierre Huet's cellar was selected as a showcase object for a commission that was to define the "Calvados" appellation. Perhaps he is not entirely innocent in the fact that only the "Pays d'Auge" received its own appellation.

Production area: Pays d'Auge, Normandy
Types of pears: Plants de Blanc, Fosset, Poire de Cloche, Mordouet.
Alcohol content: 2% vol.
Residual sugar: 50g/litre
Production: picking ripe pears, washing and selective sorting of fruits, grinding of fruits, pressing of pulp,
Clarification of the must, slow alcoholic fermentation in vats (1 to 3 months depending on the must), bottling, storage in a refrigerated cellar (10 to 12ºC).
Tasting: Beautiful straw yellow color, small persistent bubbles.
Fruity nose (hot pear) and thirst-quenching mouth.
Poiré is consumed fresh (between 8 and 10ºC) and preferably in "balloon" or "tulip" glasses.

Birnen-Cidre gehört bei uns einfach zum Herbst dazu!

Leider komme ich erst heute dazu, den bereits vor einiger Zeit gekauften Cidre zu bewerten - unter anderem deswegen, weil Birnen-Cidre bei uns eine Herbst-Angelegenheit ist. Wo Apfel-Cidre einen manchmal beinahe fast modrigen Nachgeschmack hinterläßt, bleibt der Birnen-Cidre immer der perfekte Begleiter (auch wenn das abgedroschen klingt) zu vielen herbstlichen Gerichten, wie beispielsweise Herbst-Pizza, Quiche Lorraine, oder Flammkuchen.
