The K-LYS AOC Cahors, a Malbec from the 2019 vintage by Clos Troteligotte, is characterized by its careful processing and maturity.

This wine is made exclusively from grapes from selected micro-plots, fermented with native yeasts and undergoes a gentle extraction and long maceration, without the addition of sulphites.

After 24 months of maturation in oak barrels on the fine lees, the wine develops a remarkable depth. Its storage potential ranges from 3 to 15 years and it is biodynamically certified according to AB and Demeter.

Visually, it presents itself in deep garnet red with violet reflections. The complex character of the wine reveals herbal, animal and fruity notes.

Critics praise the K-LYS for its refinement and elegance; Jancis Robinson gives it 17 out of 20 points, calling it one of the airiest Cahors she has ever tasted, while Wine Enthusiast gives it 91 out of 100 points.

In terms of taste, it offers a smooth, fruity (red fruit) robe with balanced, soft tannins and aromas of cocoa and vanilla, complemented by a woody undertone.

It is recommended to decant the wine before consumption and serve it with a high-quality local dish.

This K-LYS is a real discovery and differs from typical Cahors wines due to its unique character.

The 19-hectare Clos Troteligotte extends over the highlands of the Cahors appellation and is surrounded by forest, creating a harmonious link between the Lot valley and the limestone plateaus of the Causses du Quercy Blanc. Here, where the forces of valley and plateau, as well as earthly and celestial energies, mingle, the vines thrive thanks to the careful care of man. Emmanuel Rybinski, who cultivates the land biodynamically, honors this closeness to nature.

The red grape varieties are rooted in the ferruginous clay-limestone soil of the Cahors Causses, which is geologically classified as Kimmeridgian and siderolithic, while the white vines grow on the Stampien clay-limestone soil of the Quercy Blanc. This interplay between man and nature continues in the winery, where the wine is made naturally and without the addition of sulphites.

In this way, Clos Troteligotte produces vibrant wines that not only reflect the unity of minerals and plants, but also demonstrate a deep connection between the fruitiness and its complexity, as well as the cultural significance of the soil and the spirit.

Where do you ship to?
